What’s Included with the MomCozy M5 Wearable Breast Pump
When I opened the box for the MomCozy M5 wearable breast pump, I was truly blown away. The number of incredible products that comes with the pump made me really hopeful that I would love this pump. Because I was already so impressed by the additions.
The breast pump comes in a hard-shell storage bag that not only stores the wearable pumps, but all the accessories it comes with as well! It includes 3 zippered pockets which contain:
- Two USB-C charging cables
- Nursing bra extenders
- Two soft storages bags for the pumps
- 27 mm flanges
- 17 mm flange inserts
- 19 mm flange inserts
- 21 mm flange inserts
- Two spare valves
- Nipple ruler for flange size
- Two cleaning brushes
- Two flange covers
The pump comes set up with the necessary parts, including the 24 mm flanges.
The fact that this pump comes with a nipple ruler to get your proper flange size AND multiple flange insert sizes is a game changer! I really admire that MomCozy included that. You can get started successfully pumping right away.
They really thought of everything and listened to their customers when they created this pump.
MomCozy M5 Functions and Settings
The M5 has 9 adjustable suction levels and they are definitely powerful. Everyone tolerates and empties their breasts with a different suction level, so I like that there are 9 options with this wearable pump.
There are 3 different modes: stimulation, expression, and mixed. The stimulation and expression modes function as usual, but the mixed mode is unique. It begins with a quick and short sucking pattern followed by a slow and long sucking pattern. And it vibrates while pumping to help loosen the ducts and elicit more letdowns.
The M5 features a LED display with buttons to change the modes and suction. It’s very sleek and easy to use.
When you turn the pump on after a previous session, it will start back at the suction and mode you ended on last.
Assembly and Cleaning of the M5
Assembly of the M5 wearable pump is easy and straightforward. It contains the milk collector, back flow protector, flange, and valve.
The flange seals onto the milk collector very easily and I’ve had no issues with leaks or suction. It even has a heart on the milk collector and the flange to help show you exactly where to insert it and that it’s in the correct place!
Cleaning the breast pump doesn’t require more effort than any other pumps on the market. It’s very easy to clean!
My Personal Experience with the MomCozy M5
I have been testing the M5 and have pumped many times with it and I will say I love it! I tend to reach for it the most when I need a convenient pumping option! As a mom of 3, I can’t always sit down to pump when I need to collect breast milk to give my baby a bottle. So I love that it gives me extra freedom.
As for my pumping output, I get about the same amount as if I used my Spectra. Remember, everyone responds to breast pumps differently! But overall, I would say the suction and modes help empty me just as well.
I prefer to use the mixed mode and usually keep it on a suction level of 4. You may require a higher or lower suction level. But I like that I have room to increase if needed!
The milk collection cups can hold up to 5 ounces. That works perfectly for me as I never usually pump more than 4 ounces on one breast. But if you have an oversupply, you may need to empty halfway through your pumping session.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Battery life: I used my pumps for 4 sessions before charging them. I may have even been able to go longer but I was going out and wanted to make sure they were fully charged.
- LCD screen and buttons: sleek and easy to use.
- Comfort: the silicone flanges are comfortable (I still recommend lubricating your flanges) and the 105° flange slope helps curve to the breast.
- Flange inserts included: my favorite pro. Choose from 17, 19, 21, 24, or 27 mm flange sizes. And the nipple ruler to measure yourself is included!
- Great suction: with 9 levels of suction, this pump has great suction power.
- Ease of use: just turn it on and you’re ready to pump. Adjust your settings with just a few buttons.
- Auto shut off: pumps automatically shut off after 30 minutes.
- Affordable: compared to other wearable breast pumps on the market, the M5 (and all of its extras!) make this pump very affordable.
- Discreet: while not silent, the pump is quiet and fits into your bra without being extremely bulky.
- Easy to pour: the spout at the top of the pump makes it easy to pour into a bottle or storage bag.
Cons
My only con for this pump is that the valves are really small. This just means I can’t easily interchange valves with my other breast pumps and will need to repurchase replacements more frequently. However, most wearable pumps have their own special valves that cannot be interchanged with other pumps as well.
So it’s really not a con that would stop me from using or purchasing this pump!

Bras to Wear with MomCozy M5
When using the M5 wearable breast pump, it’s best to use a bra with a more forgiving fabric that has no underwire or padding. You want the pump to fit snugly against your breast with no gaps.
If there are any gaps or if the pump is moving, you’ll need to adjust and tighten your bra straps.
MomCozy has great bra options that hold these pumps in place very well! I’ve used both the Hands-Free 4-in-1 Pumping Bra and the Smooth Ultra Soft Maternity Nursing Bra.
How the M5 Compares to Other Breast Pumps
Compared to the MomCozy S9 and the MomCozy S12, the M5 is more discreet when worn in your bra. The motor sits flush with the milk collector instead of sitting on top like the S9 and S12.
It is also quieter than the S9 and S12 wearable pumps. It’s not completely silent, but it is one of the quieter ones out of the wearable pumps on the market.
As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I don’t recommend wearable pumps to be your primary pump (the one you use every day), especially if you’re an exclusive pumper. However, this pump is great for convenience and when you’re on-the-go.
The M5 is not fully leak-proof (like when bending over), so if that is important to you then you may need to consider another option. However, I have done laundry, cleaned my house, and cared for my 3 kids while pumping and I’ve never had a spill.
Overall
As far as wearable breast pumps go, I would definitely recommend the MomCozy M5. It’s been comfortable, easy to use, and has emptied me well. Plus I absolutely love how many extras come with this pump.
The MomCozy M5 wearable breast pump will be great for busy moms and moms on-the-go!
